Social Development and Research Centre (SDRC) Nepal was established in 1994 and is registered with the District Administrative Office in Dhanusha, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu. SDRC operates across multiple sectors including disaster risk management, poverty alleviation, flood response and reconstruction, social mobilization and community development, infrastructure development, gender and social inclusion, water supply, sanitation, local governance, livelihood promotion, and climate change initiatives.
SDRC maintains a General Assembly of 34 members that convenes annually to review budgets, progress reports, and policies. A 9-member executive committee guides the institution with board positions reserved proportionately for Dalit, disadvantaged groups, and women. The organization employs 34 staff members across its program and administrative functions, and operates in the districts of Siraha, Saptari, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa and Rautahat, with its head office in Janakpurdham, Mills Area.
